KIX is a cinematic odyssey through a boy’s coming of age. Over 12 years, it follows Sanyi from the playfulness of childhood to the conformity and grimness of adulthood.  By chance, he meets the young filmmakers Dávid and Bálint on the street, and so begins a long friendship. ‘KIX’ documents how an innocent eight-year-old boy grows up to become a persecuted enemy of the state. ‘Fate is stronger than will’, as a homeless man says to the camera. A dark prophecy that casts a shadow over Sanyi. Through a lens both personal and political, we witness a rarely seen portrait of an impoverished working-class family in modern day Budapest.
