Sofia DocuMental returns to Sofia from 21-29 March 2025!
Our special MINI edition will shed light on the pressing issue of disinformation and political censorship.
This initiative is a continuation of the festival’s fifth edition, which carried the motto “Step Out of the Bubble.” Once again, we invite you to step beyond your comfort zone—this time, to burst the bubble of fake information.
The program includes films that expose the mechanisms of repression, manipulation, and hybrid warfare in today’s world. Through these powerful documentary narratives, viewers will witness how independent journalists and activists fight against censorship and threats to freedom of speech. In addition to screenings, the program features discussions with filmmakers, journalists, and experts.
The event is held in partnership with the British Council in Sofia as part of the regional project “Credible Local Voices.”
