Balkan Documentary Market

For the fourth consecutive year, an important part of the Sofia Documental program is its platform for film industry professionals, called Balkan Documentary Market. This forum is a place for exchanging experiences, ideas, as well as meeting new international partners and finding opportunities for collaboration. The highlights of the program are the two pitching forums of the programs BDC Discoveries and Balkan Watchers, dedicated to investigative documentary films and podcasts. 2025 marks the beginning of a new partnership with Storytel, which will support the development of three Bulgarian podcasts, to be presented during the event.

The "Balkan Documentary Market" is supported by the National Film Center. All events are hosted by Goethe-Institut Bulgaria.
