Sofia DocuMental 2026 begins on September 24
The international documentary festival returns in 2026 for its 7th edition, celebrating human rights and the power of information. This year’s programme is united by the theme “Keep your eyes peeled”.
An invitation to dive in, to question the obvious and to ask the hard questions. To be curious, to stay informed and to use one of your greatest assets in this day and age - critical thinking.

More than 30 films on politics, technology, ecology and human rights, accompanied by relevant discussions and guest appearances.
Sofia Documental will take place in:
The Cinema House, Odeon Cinema, The Czech Centre, Goethe Institut, Institut Francaise, The Polish Institute, Central Halls stage, The Steps and in open air spaces. Online all over the country on Neterra TV+.
The event is part of the Cultural Calendar of the Sofia Municipality and is realized with the support of the National Film Center, the National Culture Fund, as well as numerous cultural centers and embassies.
