9-MONTH CONTRACT

Ketevan Vashagashvili / 2025 / 79' / Georgia, Bulgaria, Germany
9-Month Contract follows the desperate struggle of Zhanna – a single mother from Tbilisi – who becomes a surrogate mother to secure a better future for her daughter Elene. With no education and a low-paid cashier job, she agrees to carry a child for a foreign couple in exchange for $14,000. The money runs out quickly, and repeated pregnancies begin to take a toll on her health. Told in a deeply intimate way, the film reveals the painful choices of a mother forced to trade her body in a world that ruthlessly profits from her despair.
